Bing in the New Year, on Dec. 31

The third annual Bing in the New Year

celebration, presented by 1847 Food Park,

is Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. in

downtown Milwaukie—birthplace of the Bing cherry! 

This free, family-friendly outdoor event includes Chinese cultural performances, live music food, drinks and vendors. The evening culminates with the lowering, by crane, of a 7-foot illuminated Bing cherry at 9 p.m. (east coast midnight).

Bing in the New Year is held in the public lot at the corner of Main and Harrison streets (home to the Milwaukie Farmers Market).

After the event, stick around for the official afterparty at the new 1847 Food Park, one block north at

the corner of Scott and Main streets.
